We landed safely at Dulles airport on Monday evening, about an hour late due to a mechanical issue with the plane's brakes. The only blemish was a torn suitcase that we had to locate a KLM office to make a claim. Denise & Paul brought us our car, and we were on our way. Traffic wasn't too bad, and we arrived home around 7:15 after 30 hours of traveling.
Andrew was soooo happy to see us, and even teared-up a bit when we gave him a hug. When we spoke with him on the phone over the past few weeks, he didn't seem to miss us at all, so it was nice to see his utter happiness. He was attached to us the entire night and full of smiles, what a homecoming it was!
Thanks to all that helped-out with Andrew -- we truly appreciate your help. He appeared unscathed, except for a baby tooth that came-out the day before we returned home.
There are so many people that we want to thank--from our agency, we are forever grateful to them for helping us find our daughter and complete our family, to Northwest Airlines that provided us positive space tickets when we normally fly standby as an Airline employee. We cannot put into words how thankful we are to all that helped us throughout our adoption experience and helping make our dream of having a daughter come true-we couldn't have accomplished this without everyone!

We will arrive back in Almaty on January 27th to reunite with Adelyn and bring her home. We will be traveling with all the other families, so we are looking forward to our little reunion. Hopefully, the days until then will go by quickly as we miss seeing her! Andrew will go with us for this trip so he can be part of this experience and welcome his baby sister.

I'm so glad to hear that you made it home safely.. I am sure that the time will go by quickly (as I am sure that you have plenty to do in preparation of your bringing her home).. I have really enjoyed your blog and in a small way feeling a part of your experience. I can't wait to see you guys!!
Hey guys, miss you all already! But it is good to be home with Bill and my kitties. It was nice to be there with Andrew and Wanda for two weeks, and to see you and Michael before I left. Try and enjoy the holiday, Adelyn is being well taken care of by people that love her there. You could definitely see the love for her in there eyes in the pictures you took. Before you know it you guys will be on your way to her!
