Monday Dec 1—Day 8

Happy Anniversary!

Today we celebrate our 7th Anniversary! Last year we were in Riveria Maya, Mexico—the climate was a little different! We had planned to go out to the City Mall, to try the Italian Restaurant, apparently it is very good with an English menu. Unfortunately, we are both sick! I am feeling better, but now Michael has the stomach bug. At first we were thinking it was what we ate at the bowling alley, but now we are pretty sure it is a stomach bug. 10 of the 12 of the adoptive parents have been affected in one way or another (I won’t get too graphic here) and we did not eat the same things.

Our visits were good today. All the babies are not feeling at their best, but we are guessing this is somewhat “normal” now that it is winter. We are still in the baby room, not in the bonding room with the rest of the families. Donna and her daughter, Sophia are confined to our room as well. We are now used to being in the room with the caregivers and all the babies. We are getting to know them all, even with the language barrier. One of our caregivers, Anna has an 8 year old daughter, she showed me pictures of her on her cell phone and today we brought her some chocolate kinder eggs (they have a surprise in the middle) for her daughter. Yes Andrew, we got you some too!

Kinder eggs were favorites with my kids when we lived in Europe--and now they buy them when they see them for their children! Hope you're feeling better. Can't wait to have you back in the office, Fawn, to hear all about it!!!
