Sacrament and Celebration

This beautiful plaque summaries it all--
Thanks Karen and Gary for such a special and unique gift!

We celebrated Adelyn's baptism on Sunday, March 8th. We were honored to have her Godparents, Uncle Rick and Aunt Becky, travel all the way here to be with us. We were blessed to have 58 of our family and friends join us in her Baptism and for a 'Welcome Home' luncheon at our home afterwards (whew, we were glad to find we could fit as many people in our home!).

I tried to order Russian food from a Russian Gourmet place about 40 minutes away, but could never connect with the manager for catering. I was a bit afraid to order without having sampled the menu. So in the end, we went with the old standby of Italian--which probably made everyone happier anyway! At our Welcome Home celebration we had 2 pasta dishes catered and I made a spiral ham, an italian antipasta platter, and hot onion dip. We also had shrimp and chicken salads and thanks to help from friends and family, we added italian sausage in sauce, an italian green salad, potato salad and cheesy potatoes! We ended our celebration with a beautiful and yummy cake and gave out chocolate cross lollipops to all the kids and chocolates from Kazakhstan to the adults as party favors. We had the most gorgeous day--it was in the low 70's, pretty decent for early March. We are very blessed to have a loving family and the best friends that celebrated this most special day with us--we are very blessed indeed!
Below are some photos from the church service.

On Monday, we spent the day with my cousin, Kristen and her family. We took the 4 cousins--Malena, Charlie, Corrine and Adelyn (Andrew was at school) to the indoor playground at the Mall and to ride the carousel and have ice cream. We had a nice time visiting with them and were glad they got to stay an extra day!
