Wrapping up in Kazakhstan

We are wrapping up our time in Almaty. Adelyn is adjusting very well, better than we imagined. That's not to say it has been easy starting out as a family of 4 in a small hotel room (without all the conveniences and comforts of home) in a foreign country, but we are doing great! Andrew is being so loving to his baby sister and she watches him and gives him non-stop smiles! We had our SOS clinic doctor appointment Wednesday afternoon (which is required by the US Embassy to bring the baby back into the country) and she checked out just fine. We took the tram up the mountain and walked around up there with the baby and she was just taking everything in! On Friday we go to the US Embassy and receive Adelyn's US Immigration packet and Kazakhstan passport with her US Visa, allowing her to enter the country. Once she touches down on US soil, she will become a US Citizen! We will leave Saturday morning early on a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt (hopefully, we are flying standby!). Our driver will pick us up at 1:30am to load the luggage, check-out and get to the airport by 2:30am, our flight is at 4:25am......then we will connect to NWA from Frankfurt to Detroit and home finally at 5:23pm.....some 30 hours later. We are anxious to get home and are one step closer now!
This will be our last post from Kazakhstan. I can’t say we're sad to leave--we're looking forward, not back. Nonetheless, we will always be grateful to the country of Kazakhstan, the people we have met along the way and the newfound friends we have made.....for this country, gave us our precious daughter!
