TODAY is the DAY!

We had a 5:45am wake up call set -- no need since we were all up by 2:30am. The donation bag was packed with clothes, blood monitor strips & needles, baby medicine, Desitins, and baby vitamins. We then showered, dressed and went downstairs around 6:30. All the other families were down there, brimming with excitement as we waited for the cars to arrive.

Finally at 6:50 we saw them and rushed outside to find our babies! Adelyn was in her pink snowsuit and somewhat stunned with all the activities that morning (the babies came with the caregivers on a propeller plane flight from Karaganda to Almaty, probably leaving the orphanage around 4:30am).

We saw a Camry pull up in front of the hotel that we recognized as one of the cars that brought the group from the airport. Sure enough, someone said I see a baby! We couldn't wait any longer and ran outside to the waiting cars to see our babies! It was a heartwarming reunion filled with smiles and tears. Adelyn was awake and all I could see was her piercing blue eyes from her snowsuit, scarf, hat and hood! She gave me a slight smile--I have to believe she remembered me. Once inside, Adelyn perked-up and seemed to recognize us. She was laughing and smiling like when we first met her 2 months ago. After mingling a bit in the lobby, we went up to our room so Mommy could re-dress her and then joined most of the other families for a late breakfast in the hotel. We are so happy and excited to have her back -- she doesn't seem to have changed too much in the past 6 weeks. We all four took an afternoon nap and then we picked up some pizza at Assorti to eat in our room.
