Andrew and Nicole get ready to roll eggs at this White House Tradition

Today we were lucky enough to attend the White House Easter Egg Roll on the White House lawn. The Egg Roll is a White House tradition dating to 1878, but its roots actually extend back to earlier in the 19th century. Young Tad Lincoln, son of President Abraham Lincoln, hosted the first documented informal egg-rolling parties. Thanks to Northwest Airlines being a major sponsor, we have been able to go each year since Andrew was born (with the exception of 2005 when it was rained out). This by far, was the most beautiful day with sunny skies and temperatures rising in the low 50's. Our friends, Rosemary and Nicole attended as well. We didn't get a picture of Andrew with Laura Bush like last year, but he did get to be near the front for story reading time by Laura Bush and Jenna Bush. By this time next year, we hope to have a new little one to share in the fun at the White House!
